I have just started to restore a 1952 TEA. 12 volt system - Lucas coil with SW marked by one post and I believe is marked CE by the other post. Is the SW side the neg and the CE side the positive . This would maked the system postive to earth(grd). Want to make sure Thanks

If it is a single circuit switch, you don't care as there is only one input, one output, and one piece of metal connecting the two. Nothing magic inside; metal to metal.

If it is a combination switch that serves multiple functions, then you need to know which terminal is the "feed". That can be done with an ohmmeter and a little time, seeing which terminal connects to all outputs depending on what position the switch is in.

I think all 6 volt ckts are pos gnd and 12's are neg.

SW means switch (as in ignition), and the other is CB which stands for contact breaker i.e. points. They were originally positive ground although many have been reversed by now.
