My TO30 will run fine and then will stop firing. I have replaced the coil, points, condenser, plugwires and regulator. Currently, I still have the 6 volt system. The tractor is not firing, yet I am getting 6 volts from the battery, through the coil to the points. When the points close, I get no voltage reading at all. Any suggestions?

You should have 6 volts when the points close, building the magnetic field around the coil. When the points open the field collapses generating the the hi voltage for the spark.

You have a bad ignition switch, poor/corroded connection between the distributor and the battery. Take volt measurements with the points closed until you find the problem. Broken wire is also a possibility. I once had a Ford 3000 and the stake on push on connector had failed intermittantly, talk about aggravating.

I fixed my neighbors Jubilee a few days ago. The ignition switch was bad. I had a volt meter on the coil and the wind blowing against the trinket he had on the key chain made the the meter go back and forth. I thought I had gone bananas for a while.
