TEA MOUNTING A 6 FOOT FRONT SNOW PLOW

I just bought 6 six foot Fisher snow plow that came off a pickup truck. The hydraulic lift is provided from an electric pump. I want to mount it on my 53 TEA. Has anyone done this and if so could you supply some helpful hints?

a few years back i put a meyers 7foot plow on front of a to30,Zane Sherman of this and the ford site set me up with the pump, hoses, controls and knowhow to put it together ,i have up and down left and right control from the hydraulic controls he set up ,not hard to do either and he is a pleasure to deal with

I saw a TEA-20/85 set up with a front-mounted truck plow at my dealer. They must have sold it recently, as it"s no longer on their web page.

Sorry, I don"t recall HOW it was done, but it looked like it worked. :)

Peter,
If there is a way to hang it from the front axle, I think that would be better than from the "frame", for a couple of reasons:
1. The weight would then only bear on the front wheel bearings, and not the axle pivot pin.
2. The blade will stay parallel to the front axle as you are working with it.
That's all I can think of.

Jim's right in hanging it from the front axle direct, much easier to fasten it on. We dont get snow over here like you do but that is how our ploughs fasten on and they give no trouble also as he says bigger tyres are much better also dont have the rears too hard and hang a good weight on the back or you will be wasting your time. Tyre girdles are good if you have any.

One more thing - if you have the skinny 19" front tires you may want to consider switching over to the 16" wider ones and get 6 plies.
