I just bought a Ferguson TO35 Special that has water in the oil and has been sitting for 6 months. I'm going to pick it up Wednesday and intend to dump the oil, replace the filter and try to fire it up just long enough to load it. The tractor has a loader atached so I really need to start it to load. Problem is, I don't know what kind of filter it takes or even if it's a cartridge or spin on. If anyone knows I would appreciate the help. Also was this tractor produced with a 12 volt system?

For what you wanna do, don't worry about replacing the filter. Just loosen the bolt and drain it and tighten it right back up and replace the oil. Won't hurt it. You are going to have to pull it down anyway soon.

Your Tractor Has a 12 volt system, unless updated,It has a generator, On the Cartrige Oil filter,The Fram part #C-3P, usally pretty easy to find. I also have a 1959 TO-35 Special that I bought in 1989,(It has given me great trouble-free service) I hope you find out what is wrong with your tractor,This Board is/has been very helpful to me. Thanks for the replies, Gentlemen. I appreciate them all.

I now have the tractor home and we are going to tear the engine down this weekend. I hope for the best but am prepared for the worst.
