I recently purchased a to30 with what seems to be
and acts like a sherman / two range tranny box ahead of the regular tranny. Is this common and dose it help in the value ? [email protected]

Hi Randy

We had on our farm 40 years ago
when I was kid 2 fergies..with Sherman 3 range

Last year I found 2 fergies at 2 different places
Nostalgia from my young years
but with no Sherman.

I paid $ 2,000/Can and $ 1,500/Can
I am still looking for Shermans to put in my 2 fergies.

My humble opinion is: a fergie in good condition
worth $500 more with a Sherman
It gives you 12 forward speeds and 3 reverse
instead of 4 forward and 1 reverse.

May be... a Sherman trans will be in my dreams-dreams-dreams.

Happy motoring !!!

Randy,

I have a '54 TO 30 with a Sherman. Mine is actually a "3" range tranny. Overdrive, Normal Drive & Underdrive. The shift is on the left front side of the tranny in the bellhousing area. There should be a round Sherman Instruction disc under the steering wheel nut.

Common??? Extra value???

Fran
