Someone should start making a radiator cap like the old model T"s had with a thermometer sticking right out the top. It should be made so that the thermometer part will screw apart and you can replace it yourself...wouldn"t be hard to build and most tractors could use it. Then if you broke it on a limb, you could curse a little and replace it. Wouldn"t have to worry about fitting anything to the dash or engine. I guess life wasn"t meant to be simple though. I always found that most temp. kits had 3/4" threads and the tractors had 1/2". Guess you could solder a fitting in the upper part of the radiator though if you can"t get one in the proper place. The temperature gage that I bought at NAPA fit just fine. It had an adaptor to go up in size if needed.

There is a boss on the coolant outlet elbow with a plug in it. You remove the plug and put the bulb of the capillary tube temperature gauge in the threaded hole.

i BELIEVE jERRY/MT is talking about the location of the temp SENSOR. The guage is mounted on the outboard left side of the dash panel. Should have
a knockout located there I think. Otherwise I guess you cut the hole.
