MF35 about 1959 model. PTO and lift quit all at once after lowering. Found out I had run it completely low on hyd. fluid. Filled with basic hydraulic fluid. Had no resonse until much later. Now it will raise and pto turns but once in a bind or going through any grass I lose all response and have to wait. Does this unit have clutches inside. That is what I was told.
HELP!
Thanks, Tom

You could have blocked the hydraulic strainer (if fitted, early ones didn"t have one). There is no PTO clutch in this model, I assume that the PTO is still driving OK? If not check PTO clutch adjustment, although oil level should not affect this and usually they won"t dissnegage when out of adjustment.

Drain the hydraulic fluid out and fill with STOU, or whatever the US equivilant of this is. The hydraulic fluid is also the transmission oil so ordinary hyd oil is not good enough.
