I am thinking of buying a topper to go behind my te-20d tractor, is this the best idea for maintaing 10 acres of grassland?

Hi Scott,

Depends a little on how often and type of finish you want. I use a 5 foot finishing mower which I use every couple of weeks with my TED 20. I've set it up so that the weight is on the mowers rear wheels and on the top-link so that the hydraulics will lift and lower automatically as I cover any bumps in the ground. Works a treat. I also have an over-run clutch on the PTO which is recommended.

A friend of mine uses a topper which he drags around on its skids and is very happy with the results. He does not have an over-run clutch (but better brakes!) which may be the reason he gets through PTO converters.

Hope this helps.
