tractor has been running alright with it, i am plainning on rebuilding it but was wondering, what the difference is between this one and the original one that should be on it. will it operate ok or should i try to find an original one? thanks, chris

The airflow difference between the TO-30 and the TO-20 is about 7.5 %(more for the TO-30.) The parts manual shows different venturi's for the respective carbs. I would assume that the 361 has a smaller area than the 458. If that's true, then at any given rpm, the pressure in the 361 venturi the -30 airflows will be lower than with the 458 venturi, which will induce more fuel flow to probably keep the fuel air ratio nearly the same. You might have to readjust the power jet screw one way or the other. You might limit the wide open throttle power with the smaller carb, but my guess is that won't happen to any noticable extent.

the to30 usually has a TSX458 on it the TSX361 is the one used on the te 20,at least thats the way its on both of mine ,i think that the tsx458 has bigger jets for more fuel to power the bigger motor ,at least from experience my to 30 burns a lot more fuel,hope somebody with more knowledge can explain it better
