Hi all...Just finished mowing tonight and started checking fluids...checked oil, coolant, and since I have never had a problem (only been working tractor for a year) thought I'd chek the hydraulic fluid....WRONG!!!. I take it the dip stick is on the right side round cover where a dirt filled tube is on my to20. If so I thinks I'll be using a drill bit and grease to remove the dirt, or as much as I can. Thanks all, Mike. Any other suggestions are welcome since I don't really want to remove the side cover now.

If you just want to check the oil level, you can remove the bottom bolt form either inspection plate. Oil should just start to ooze out at the right level. This will be handy to know until and if you get a new dip stick.

You would be far better removing the cover which would prevent the dirt falling down into the transmission housing and contaminating the oil. It's only a ten minute job and you can easily make a new gasket.

Thanks Peter. For some reason I was thinking there was something attached to the cover that made it more difficult. Appreciate the advice. Mike
