I bought the TO-30 last night and hauled it home. Didn't want to let it sit too long for fear someone else would snap it up.

It runs smoothly, as long as the choke is about halfway out. Hopefully there's some adjustment that can be made to the fuel system to take care of that. Didn't have time to mess with it last night.

One thing on it I thought was odd - It has a shift lever on the left side, just in front of the clutch. It appears to change the transmission into a slower speed range. I've never seen one of those before. Anyone know if that was a factory option, or an add-on? Or what it was called? (You can just barely see it in the left side picture Jim posted - It's under the pressure regulator)

The serial number is TO-110126. I can't look up the age at the moment, as all my books are packed. (We're moving this weekend) If anyone would feel inclined to look it up for me I would be grateful.

The serial number link at left places it around a '53 model. The shifter under the regulator appears to be for a Sherman under, over or under/over drive unit, similar to the one on my '54 TO-30. Look for a round, red metal disc under the steering wheel nut for instructions.

I don't recall seeing a red disc anywhere on the dash. I'll look for it next time I'm out there.
