Most of these blocks crack in the web between the cylinders. The old way of fixing this was to drill between the cylinders and inswert a threaded rod with a couple of nuts on each end. When you tighten the nuts the tension in the threaded rod would pull the crack closed. The modern fix is to furnace braze the cracks in the block. I replaced my worn out block with a remanufactured one from Farmland Tractor in Turner, OR. That's a long way from Carolina but if you can't find anybody that does this kind of work near you, let me know and I'll dig up their number. Maybe they can tell you of someone closer that does this kind of work.

My understanding is that Montes Equipment has no blocks for Z129 engines.

Refurbished blocks are available from Mac Tractor Parts. 1-800-882-4742.

For new continental engine parts visit: http://www.montesequipment.com/index.html Try this list for used tractor parts. Cracked blocks are regrettably quite common when these engines are overheated. Most can be "pinned" by an automotive machine shop.
