TE 'A' 20 starter

Need help on this one. We have a TE20 and believe it to be a TE'A'20. It is petrol/VO. My local repairer tells me that no parts are available to repair the drive pinion. Engine type closely resembles petrol version shown in 135 parts book.
(Manufactured by Standard Car Co UK ?)

The starter removed is a Lucas 25609 12V. It is slightly smaller in appearance than the 135 diesel M45 and does not have the solenoid mounted on it. It has the metal band cover at one end and has the domed armature support at the other with 4" x 7/16 mounting 2 bolt centres.

Non gen parts suppliers indicate that a Lucas 25038 M35G-1 with open bendix pinion will fit 85 and 87mm tractors from TEA to petrol 135. I have obtained several of these units and find that the armature is too long and the bolt centres a lot wider even if it would fit. The unit removed was a perfect fit.

Can anyone help with locating parts or complete new unit preferably within the UK?

John and James, thanks for your replies. Holland-Brand did not reply to my message so I assume that they were unable to help.
Seems the problem is that the tractor has a 6 volt bell housing (Information, thanks to Patrick Edwards) and that the original 6v starter with domed end support has been fitted with a 12v unit.
Later 12v bell housings had a larger recess to accommodate the longer open bendix. For anyone who needs a repair I have posted the starter to Rees and Allen in Aylesbury who assure me that they are able to undertake the repair.

You can get complete starters, no problem and I think you can get the pinion for this starter. If you would like to try Holland-Brand on 0870-745-9075 you need a starter drive pinion for a 12v TED starter.

Well, you could try these guys - really helpful - they break all types of TE, and have got me out of trouble in the past.
