The "factory standard" PTO shaft back in the early '50's was a 1-1/8 inches. The present standard is 1-3/8 inches and all the more modern equipment is 1-3/8ths. My '54 TO-30 has the 1-1/8 " and I have a machined 1-1/8 to 1-3/8 adapter for PTO equipment. You can get ORC's that have the 1-1/8 female end and the 1-3/8 male end so that you can use you small PTO shaft to power a rotary cutter directly. The other alternative is a shaft conversion kit that costs about $110 + shpg that provides the 1-3/8th shaft, bearing, seal and cover. I know this is a long story, but since you could have either a 1-1/8 or a 1-3/8 PTO due t somebody converting the original, you'll need to measure your PTO shaft and buy accordingly.
