We have been having trouble with our MF 135 after mowing for a period of time. It will sometimes backfire and sputtter and act like it is going to die then if I hold down on the clutch it will fire back up then I might mow a strip or two more and the same thing happens and at this time it usually dies. It tries to turn over but it just won't even when I use the choke. I check the lines and it doesn't seem to be getting gas thru somewhere. What could cause this since it mows great to start off with then it just sputters out. Also while trying to pull it to the barn I ended up busting the radiator. How expensive and how complicated of a job is this to fix. Please answer asap. I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!

If you get no gas, how about a simple thing such as a plugged vent hole in the tank filler cap? If it is the spark you're missing i had plenty of trouble with a defective coil.

You've answered your question yourself. The fuel system is restricted somewhere and must be cleaned out, beginning with the fuel tank and progressing to the carb itself, to find the restriction. For new radiator prices, just check the link at the left under "marketplace".

"Massey 135 dies after mowing for around 1/2 hour," On the To-35-MF 135 The fuel inlet fitting at the Carb,(elbow) also has a filter on it,(remove from carb, you will see screen) this filter is often overlooked, as most people think the sediment bowl is the only filter. Gregg/Oh.
