My TO20has been leaking oil really bad at the pto so i went to change the seal the new seal looks nothing like the old one which is wider
the old one has number 16204 c/r on it I went to my useal parts store but that number comes up blank is it possable someone put wrong part in it as there was also the clip missing from the end of the shaft

Goo day John

My parts manual says that the seal dimensions are as follows. 1-5/8 ID x 2-1/2 OD x 7/8 profile. This seal was common on all the Fergusons and Fords. When I replaced mine I went to the Brg. Seal suppliers and they did a sizing fit and I ended up putting in two back to back. One to keep the oil in and one to keep the outside elements out. The new seals will be 3/8 or 7/16 thick. This is because the are lip seals and not leather. So check your bearing supplier and he will put you straight.

I think the C/R 16204 is the correct seal and crosses to Victor #46062. I don't know what to say about the "C" clip except you probably should have one.

I went to my bearing and seal place yesterday with these numbers and these seals have an outer diameter of 2 7/16". So, can any of you guys confirm whether the diameter needs to be 2 1/2", or 2 7/16"?
Otherwise I will take my shaft apart before getting the seals but I was hoping to minimize my down time.

The new seals are a new style and they are thin. The 8n seal and sleeve is the same as the TE-TO 20. Are you going to replace the sleeve on the PTO shaft?
