TEA-2085 and oilchange questions

I to own a TEA-2085 Ferguson and when I bought mine the oil had never been changed, Ever. There will be a cylinder on the left side of the tractor,near the bottom of the motor. Left as your sitting on the seat. There will a bolt on top of the cylinder. Unscrew this and the cylinder will come right off. If yours was like mine the original paper oil filter was still in it. Clean it out and put a new filter back in. You will have to push the cylinder back in and hold it while you screw the bolt back in the top. Be careful not to pinch the oil gasket when you do this. It will seat itself but be careful. Once that is done unscrew the oil drain plug on the very bottom of the oil pan and drain out all the old oil. I find it helps if the tractor has been running for a bit to get the oil warm. Once that is done go to the right side of the tractor,near the front of the tractor and close to the bottom you will see an oval thing with about 6 nuts, this is the oil screen. take these off and pull the screen out. You may have to stick you hand in there and clean as much of the old gunk out as you can. Clean the screen and put it back in , making sure that the oil pickup tube is in place. Dont worry you will see what I mean when the screen is off. Once everything is back it takes 5 liters of oil or so the fill her back up. Its very easy to do this. Good luck

Barry has done a good explanation, for your question about the weight of oil. I would stay with the non detergent 30 weight concidering the age of the tractor. If you use the high detergent oil you might find that you may loose oil pressure because of the cleaning action. Just my 2 cents worth.
