Radiator problem

I have a T0-30 that keeps overheating after a short period. The radiator does not seem bad, as it does not leak when sitting with the engine off. After running for 30 mins, the fluid is boiling inside the radiator. I first thought the problem may be the thermostat. When i tried to replace it I found that it did not have one. The water pump is ok. Since the Thermostat is located right after the engine discharge in the hose i assume, why would it overheat?

My To20 had the same problem, after many attempted fixs it ended up to be a bad radiator cap. Put on a new one now the old girl runs perfect. You might want to check your cap. Hope that dose the trick.

Diz.... Most problems that cause overheating except the obvious are, raditor flues internally stopped up(remove the cap and drain water out and look in and inspect to see if you have and build up internally in the flues), externally stopped up with grass, dirt etc. Other things that cause over heating are engine running lean or to rich(check carb adjustment and make sure air filter is clean) fuel starving check fuel filter screens and flow, check and timing and point setting.Check for vaccum leaks. If all these are ok fill raditor all the way to the top and run tractor and look for bubbles in the raditor or put a raid. pressure tester on and look for compression building up and or leaks....
these checks should find your problem.

best wishes

I have an overheating TO 20. I have noticed that the radiator is bubbling a lot, even when the engine is cold. If I put some tork on the motor, It will over heat in about ten minutes. I have noticed that the water shoots out the overflow even when the water is still cool. I'm wondering if Diz has any ideas?
