I am having difficulty in getting my 35 deluxe shifted into 540PTO. Sometimes it goes in, but it is not easy. The adjustable speed PTO is working fine. Any suggestions?

Adjust your clutch. The deluxe model has a dual clutch, it could be siezed or need adjusting to give more clearance.

Slacken the nut on the clutch shaft and put a screwdriver through the hole. Put a nut between the pedal and the footrest such that you have about 3/8" gap. Turn the shaft anticlockwise until the release bearing touches the clutch. Tighten the pinch bolt and remove the nut from the pedal arm. You should now have a little clearance at the top of the pedal and two stages of operation. You will know that the PTO stage has been operated because your hydraulic pump will also be disconnected.
