Before I took apart my TO 35 to clean up & paint, she started all the time, any time without a problem. Since she hasn't. This spring after not running all winter she started no problem. She sat for a couple weeks, had problems since starting. I have timed several times so I hope I haven't made mistakes there. I have noticed twice when I took off the breather hose leading to carb that gas poured out, that obviously is not right. Do I need to take of carb & rebuild or could the float be the problem. I appreciate any suggestions, I miss going out and having Fergy start everytime I turn her on. PS I have replaced Battery & coil this week. New regulator and wiring last fall, also notice the new amp read a negative 10 amps on acceleration of engine??

Are you sure you haven't hooked something in the electrical system up backward? Your ammeter should read positive when the system is charging and the engine is at high rpms.

Hi Terry, pull the float bowl and see if the needle valve may be stuck open, or if the float is full of gas. My guess is that the needle is stuck. After doing this, pull the plugs, spin the engine over and see if gas comes out. Clean the plugs, or replace. I'd try this before I proceeded to ignition, since you have fuel where it shouldn't be.
