(Please bare with the new guy!)My tractor's VIN shows it to be a '57. It's red and gray. Very FADED red, but originally red either way (front wheels read, rear wheels red with gray rims). Can that color combo be marked-up to being produced late in '57 as everything I've read says they didn't go to red/gray until '58? Also, mine is 12volt neg ground. Is that correct? The starter says "Delco-Remy 12volt" right on it and the battery is an older 12volt grounded to the frame. Around the forums I'm reading pos. ground and 6volt, but the more I read it seems the more confused I get. Any help with the correct color and electrical system will be greatly appreciated!! Just so you all know I'm not TOTALLY new at this; I've been into the old Dodge Power Wagons, and their military counterparts for a few years. Dealing with 6volt and pos ground is nothing new (neither is a 24 volt system!). Original colors vary from which book you read or which web-site you visit. But, being new to this little tractor, I'm starting all over again!! ...come to think of it... a '57 Fergie is one of the newest vehicles I own!! Thanks everyone! Dana
