This little ditty is in Rising City, NE. Looks to be a homemade set-up, but pretty well done, and clever!! I'm guessing it's homemade as I've NEVER seen anything like this before! Could never locate an owner, so I went to the auction and bought the Ferguson and probably got a much better running tractor anyway (this one looked like it'd been sitting for many a year!). Thought you might get a kick outta' the photo!

boy, does that bring back memories. sugaring in vermont as a kid , we had a ford with half tracks for gathering sap. glenn

My first thought with that thing was, "If you need those in the field to farm, you probably shouldn't be out in that field in the first place!!" Let the ground dry up a bit!!!

I just thought that'd be too cool to have a set-up like that! Definitally Unique!!

These "half track conversions" were made by both ARPS and Bommider (spelling ? ). This set was a Bommider as evident by the boggy wheels not having wheel studs to a hub.
They made the tractors almost unstopable in mud and snow. The kits come up on the ads from time to time and go for $500 and up.

WHAT YOU SEE HERE ARE A SET OF TRACKS FROM BOMBARDIER,PROBABLY FROM THE 1950'S. SOME PEOPLE THOUGHT THEY WORKED GOOD BUT I ALWAYS THOUGHT THEY WERE A POOR WAY TO GET TRACTION.

Beleive it or not, that is NOT homemade. There are some in here that will tell you exactaly what it is, I cant remember. Somthing comes to mind that its called a half track. Saying that I await comments for the others

That is the same setup that the TE-20 had to make it's famous trek across Antartica back in 1950. Yep, tracks were an option.
