Most of the sweated joints on outside of my rad have failed. The rad has no leaks at all but the outer structure needs to be re attached. Can this be done with a plumbers torch some flux and solder?? I'm worried if I apply too much heat I might melt the soldered joints and create some leaks. Also one of the studs on the bottom of the rad is missing, probably snapped off years ago, any ideas on how to re attach.

If I were you , I would get it to a rad shop, preferably one that has done that type of work before. I use Brian's Radiator shop near Perth on Hiway 43. He has done all my old rads , Ford 9n , my mh 30 and the ones on the stuff that actually has to run everyday. The rad on my Fergie is next , it is in similar condition to yours , needs some TLC. There is also a good Massey dealer on that road as well , just in case. Take care---Bill
