We have a refurbished 1965 MF tractor. We thought everything was okay (new hydrolics, loader, etc, etc,), but now the engine is in trouble. A local company is charging $3800 for an engine rebuild, but now they are having a hard time finding a valve for the engine. I feel like we are getting screwed by this company anyway. They keep pushing us off in order to serve the bigger farmers first....Anyway, we need some advice on what to do about this engine. Should we keep looking for a valve, or should we go with a different manufacturer????? Please help.

Laura; You might be able to get a valve thru NAPA. I got a pushrod for my TO-30 thru them some years ago.Z129 Continential gas engine. Price sounds high to me. What all are they doing for that kind of money.
