Which manual?

In a few days I will bringing home a non-running TE20 that needs work in almost all areas. Which manual(s) are recommended? I noticed there are "parts", "service" and of course "operator" manuals available. What's the difference between the "parts" and "service" manauls?

My advice is to get the factory manuals. They are much better than the IT manuals, in my opinion.

The operators manual is kinda' like you owners manual for a car. It tells you how to operate the machine. It also has some info on oil changes, tune up and rudimentary type service. The service manuals will tell you all you want to know about the systems, maintenanace and rebuilding and overhaul. The parts manual is generally illustrated and it has the pert numbers, and the general relationship of each part relative to its surrounding parts.

My advice is to get them all, especially if you will be doing your own work. It'll let you know before you take something apart to repair, that you'll need a special tool or equipment. With all the info available, you can decide what you want to tackle and what you might let an experienced mechanic do.

I recently bought all 3 manuals from this site. Best money I ever spent. The parts manual is just that, PARTS. It shows all the parts that make up the great Fergusons. The servise manual tells you how to go about fixing your tractor. The owners manual tells you the basic stuff about running a Ferguson and how to operate one with implements attched. How often to change the oil etc. Be careful and make sure you get the right manuals. I made the mistake and ordered the wrong service maunal. No problem now, I have the right one and all is good ,, Best of luck
