TO-35 Paint Questions

I am having a problem getting accurate color mixes for my TO-35. I want to use Dupont Centari
for the tin and castings. I have had a tough time getting the right color formulas. Dupont (my jobber) says that after checking with DuPont, "there are no Centari formulas for Ferguson Colors", and the closest Centari color match is their #42838A 1974 Ford "Dark Yellow Green Metallic" but it looks too yellow. Their gray formula #N9650A that I had mixed looks too dark. The formula they want to use for the silver is #45818A 1979 General Motors Code 17 Silver but they don't even have a color chip for it. Is their no way to get Dupont Centari Formulas that are for "FERGUSON GRAY", "FERGUSON DARK GREEN METALLIC", and "FERGUSON SILVER" without settling for one of their car colors that is "pretty close?" Another frustrating situation is that they show an actual DuPont Dulux formula for Ferguson Dark Green Mettalic but it cannot be mixed because Dulux is no longer a viable product, so various components are no longer available. In addition, there is no cross reference between the Dulux formula and the Centari. There also seems to be some color disagreement among those that have restored tractors. If you look at the "Photo Gallery" shots (on this web page) of the "1948 Ferguson TE-20" and the "Ferguson TE -20" I think that the two tractors are two completely different shades of gray. One appears much darker tahn the other which is correct? I sure could use some help!

I just painted my '55 TO-35. I was given Dulux colors but the problem I ran into was that the green they couldn't match up. I took the tractor to the paint store and they it matched up with some of the old original paint that was hidden for years. I have the paint codes in Urethane (Dupont). I don't have them with me right now, but if you want them, E-Mail me or reply here.

Jim... I know what you are going through... The little grey fergies of the late forties had a grey color that I have never seen duplicated.... The Ferguson Grey had a hint of blue in its grey. I was very involved with the little tractors at the time (still am) and I remember that color very vividly.

Those Hi Gloss Fleet coatings don't mix well for exact original Implement Colors(or even duplicate truck colors) but "O" how they maintain their shine and luster....
