Can anybody tell me where I can get a battery platform? I also need the little linkage rod from the throttle lever to the round part under the dash. Thankyou in advance, RT

I just purchased (1 week ago) a TO-20 and the throttle linkage kept popping off. Not on the end where the round plate is, but on the end where the trottle contol arm attaches, rigft behind th steering shaft. The ball joint had worn out and the joint kept popping off the ball. I was able to remove the arm and take it to my local NAPA store.
note: I was not able to remove the the connection from that round plate (didnt have a wrench small enough) but was able to unscrew the rod from the ball joint on that end. The new ball joint is brass and is much BEEFIER than the old one. Make sure you double check the threads. One they had seemed to screw on ok but then tightened up considerably before it should have. Looked inside and the joint was only partially threaded.
Because I was not able to remove the ball from the round plate, putting it all back in was a real tight squeeze, but patience paid off. I had to rotate the round plate (throttle open) way past the normal rotaion to get everything to fit past steering column then rotate it back to line it up with hole in throttle arm attachment. This is all fresh in my mind 'cause I did it yesterday.

If your arm is missing you can go to NAPA and get 2ea 1/4" brass ball joints (28 thread) and a piece of threaded rod (don't know if they have it, but I would guess it is probably a standard linkage part) and then experiment with length. rotate the round plate counterclockwise to stop, rotate throttle arm counterclockwise to idle position, measure distance between centerline of holes in both parts then determine how much threads go into ball joint (x2 for each end) then length of ball joint fitting, do a little math to determine a good length...longer is better , you can always cut it again to shorten. if slightly too short all is not lost....there are additional adjustments in linkage clevises on the way to the carb. GOOD LUCK Mine works like original now.

There is guy auctioning off a whole TO-20(part by part) on e-bay right now. He may have already sold this part, but maybe not. Check quick.

If you are anywhere close to Danville, VA, there is a Fitz tractor salvage yard that is likely to have it. If you need contact info, e-mail me and I'll get it.

Try the salvage yards. Try Mac Tractor in Colcord, OK. Or you might have to fabricate them.
