Last summer my TO-30 overheated and after cooling down the engine was froze. I'm rebuilding it, but when I took the crankshaft to the machine shop to check it for wear, they said it had a slight crack in one of the rod lobes, not the one that had froze. I have been trying to locate a crankshaft but everyone I've found has been around $500. I'm just can aford to sink that kind of money in the crankshaft and then rebuild the rest of the engine. Does anybody know where I can get a crankshaft cheap? I had one person tell me to go ahead and rebuild it with my crankshaft, that small cracks were common and hardly ever break. What do you mechanic think? All help appreciated!

I went through the same thing with my TO-20. After dealing with a couple of machine shops locally one of them recommended Standard Crank in Charlotte, NC. I don't have a number for them but they had the crank and bearings in stock and shipped was less than $400. Give them a call they might can help.
