TO 30 Lever??

I picked up a decent TO30 yesterday. The tractor has an additional lever located just in front of the pto engagement lever. The old guy said it was for bailing hay and it disengaged the transmission while keeping the pto running. Was this an aftermarket item or available stock? How does it actually work?

Rob: We had a similar "live pto" on an 1955 Ford NAA that we farmed with in the late 1950s. I have never seen nor heard of one on a Ferguson. The Ford unit is engaged and disengaged by hydraulics driven by a small pump behind the regular live hydrualic pump. Seems to me that if the hydraulics don't work it stays engaged and you can control the on/off of the pto with the regular lever anyway. The IT maintenance manuals for NAAs has information on this. I don't think any parts are available, but it is a nice feature to have if it does work. Mike-Iowa

I recently purchased a TO30 with the same setup you are describing. I am located in Northwest Missouri. I am trying to find info on this setup too. Does yours have a brand name on it anywhere? I can't find any on mine. Maybe we can pool our resources.
