I have a To-30 and just recently rebuilt the hydralic pump becuase of slow and poor lifting. Well it does not seem to be any better. I have noticed with the right side cover off, the control valve seems to back off once lifting starts. However, using a screwdriver I can push on the control fork, which pushes the control valve into the pump, it quickly and smoothly. Also front loader will not go up without pushing the control fork forward, please help.

The lift should begin to raise when the touch control handle is about two inches from the top of it's travel. If it is almost to the very top before it begins to raise then the quadrant needs to be loosened where it mounts to the top housing of the lift and then moved back along the elongated mounting holes until the touch control handle will begin to raise the lift farther down the quadrant.

Also check the spring that is connected between the front end of the ram cylinder and the middle section of the two control rods that come down from the top of the lift. If this spring has lost it's tension over the years it will give the lift all sorts of problems because it will just stretch instead of the control valve moving when the touch control is moved. If need be you can shorten the length of this spring to increase it's tension.

Did you replace the relief/safety valve? That's the one at the bottom behind the pump and it looks a little like a spark plug. Takes an 11/16 stubby wrench to get it. About $24. Might be your problem.
