My throttle does not hold rpms, it lowers itself to idle. I have to hold the throttle lever with one hand while I mow. I put in a cork washer, but that had no effect. Is there a trick to adjusting the linkage? I messed around with the spring by the cork washer by compressing it as much as I could, but that didn't do anything either.

There's supposed to be a compensator spring on front of engine where vertical linkage hooks on. That spring is helpful in keeping tractor in idle position when throttle lever pulled all the way up, and helps compensate for reverse pressure from the govenor.

We had a TE-20 and TO-30 that the throttle would not stay. Didnt go clear to idle but would not stay say around 17-1800 rpm's. Put in New cork and tinkered with the governor springs but didnt solve anything.
