Hi

Just thought you might like to know what where im at with my overheating problem i posted just after XMas.

Well I have cleaned the cooling system out with white vinegar and it came out pretty black so it must have done something.

Also checked my spark plugs and found that they wernt the recommended type so replaced. Found the old plugs had only half the thread length and half the ceramic top length as well.May have been running hot ???

have adjusted the timing reset the carb.

It now runs fine (touch wood) oil pressure comes up to 60 psi at start and as it gets warm drops to just abve the 20. Spent 1 hr mowing the paddock on Saturday and then 1/2 hr harrowing yesterday. No overheating (yeah) so hopefully all is well. Thanks for all your help.

The next thing I want to do is change the oil and filter and was thinking of running an engine flush through the system. I notice another question about this has been posted. It hasnt had a good oil change for some time according to previous owner. Has anyone tried the engine flush additive ???

Appreciate any comments

Thanks again for your help

Regards Thomo.

Thomo,
I wondered what happened to you. I'm glad to hear that all is well and your overheating problem is cured. Since you did all the changes at once I guess we don't what what the real fix was. It could have been "all of the above". Anyway you found some problems and put them right and now go and enjoy your well running machine!

I have no opinion on special oil flushes. I would just change the oil and the filter and run it for 10-15 hours and change the oil and filter again. Then just stay on the factory recommended maintenance schedule or change the oil and filter twice a year, which ever comes first.

If you have anymore problems or questions, get back to us !
