Tea conecting rod ?

Read Gerrys post about the rods and there direction . On the standard engin they can only go on one direction but on the piston it is marked FRONT on the top when I installed the pistons on the rods FRONT was faceing to the back and the rods were faceing the correct way my question is will this cause a problem with lubercation on the sleves ?as far as I can see the piston is the same all way round or am I missing somthing ? thanks

glen im fairly new to the tractors. but an engine builder for years.i know on automotive pistons they are not ground round in shape.if u could exaggerate the shape looking down from the top is egg shaped.with the larger side on the thrust side of your cylinder wall.when fully warm this tends to go away somewhat in theory. i think i would take the time to do properly to avoid future oil use or maybe a cold knock on start up. but in any case its worth doing right . good luck and enjoy it . their a good tractor in my limited experience.

Don't know; they must have marked them "front" for some reason though. Your pistons and mine are different I guess as mine have a slit in one side only.
It's not too hard to change them around though is it?
(Or is your engine already togther?)

Thanks Jim Yes it is put together and I have a slit on them as well I though mabe it was there as a expansion gap when warmed up mabe I was wrong
