TEA20 odd hydraulic action

Yesterday my hydraulics started acting strangely: the implement lifts very slowly, until when it is just about all the way up, when it speeds up to its usual rate.
It has been sitting outside in -20C to -25C degree weather for 4 or 5 days; yesterday it "warmed up" to about -15 C. But last winter, with the same oil, the lifting speed did NOT slow down like this.
Now when I first tried to lift it, I thought the implement (snowblower) might be frozen to the ground so I whacked it with a sledge hammer to be sure it was free. (I don't really think this was the problem as I would have expected the front wheels to lift instead.) Then when I tried it again I waited longer, and it did start to rise, but it's very slow.
It seems like maybe something has happened with the linkage from the lever on the quadrant down to the control valve. The mysterious part is the way the speed improves when the implement is just at the top. I think this proves it's nothing to do with oil viscosity.
Any thoughts?

Any way you can get that 20 in a heated garage? I suspect you have some frozen moisture in the pump area either plugging up the intake or obstructing valve flow. Moisture can get in through the shift lever, badly worn lift shaft bushngs and the top-link connection to the control valve linkage. If your oil has a "creamy" color to it, it's water for sure.

I have no warm area to put it, but once it's warm enough to venture outdoors again (-30 right now) I will certainly check the oil. It's not that old though but I guess it wouldn't take much water since the pump is right at the bottom.

jim ill be folowing this posting. i have my pump out and will be taking it in to be serviced .it worked well but was buried in sludge so removed and cleaned well but i want have it serviced while out.was it on your website i read abuot 2 different relief valves depending on ser.# with the later having a higher psi?

Three different relief valves I think - earliest at the lower psi, then the higher psi (1900 and then 2100 psi? something like that) - both of these mounted on the pump. Later, the relief valve was mounted in the left port in the lift cover. My pump isn't buried in sludge anymore as I had it out and cleaned out the whole area (and there was lots of junk in there). This might have been last spring. Everything had been working quite well until now.

jim could this relief valve be sticking? but iguess that wouldnt explain it speeding up by the top.
