It seems that your situation is common. I have read many posts here over the past four years about the sludge problem. I found enough sludge in mine to fill two one-pound coffee cans.

I tried something that worked pretty well - you may want to try it also. I added two quarts of kerosene to my transmission/hydraulic oil. Then I went out and put the 3pt system up and down many times to try to wash out any residue in the pump. I didn't drive very far because I did not want to damage the tranny bearings and gears. Then, during the tear-down I used kerosene in a pump sprayer (an old 1 gallon garden sprayer)to clean the parts as I disassembled the rear end and hydraulic pump.

This was four years ago and the inside of my rear end is still very clean. It may have been the power of suggestion but my hydraulic system seemed to work much better after a good cleaning.

Seen it in the te-20 that I am rebuilding. Fifty plus years of various metal and other gunk. You really need to pull the pump to do a good job of cleaning it all out.

upon further inspection(couldt leave alone went to shop middle of night) it appears some what to be accumalitive rust from under lift arms and else where. as bad as this tractor leaked im sure they added fluid often and the people i got it from are less than caring for equipment .so im sure much dirt entered in this manner.
