Can someone please tell me how to install distributor after engine has been turned it is a z129 thank you very much for your time and trouble. jim

Jim.... with out going into geat detail try this...pull #1 spark plug rotate engine to Top dead center preferably by hand turning then check timing mark alignment, then Holding Dist. point rotor to number 1 cylinder and drop dist. back in, you may have to wiggle and turn it slightly to get it back in...align clamp and snug up slightly. That should be close enogh for it to run , then after running set it with a timming light.

Thanks very much for reply TO35.Hate to bother you again but my distrbutor cap don't seem to be marked which one is number one. Do i consider which ever one the roter points to as number one? Tanks again. Jim

Actually there is, or was a very small scribe mark on the dist. housing to point the rotor tward for #1, but quite simply #1 can be where ever you want it to be. The turning tward #1 cylinder is good advice.

As you put the dist in...point the rotor to number 1 cylinder, when you install the cap the post the rotor is pointing to on the cap will be number one... you might have to move dist. just a fuz to align it.
Facing the dist. and cap mounted on the engine number one should be close to 10 o'clock and it rotates clockwise, so wire it clockwise from there.
