Ready to install the engine on my TO35 Ferguson. Have already used clutch tool to align flywheel and clutch (dual clutch).How do I align the splines on Main Drive Shaft and PTO Main Drive to slots on clutches at rear of engine. On my TE20 I could align the single shaft splines to clutch by turning PTO shaft at rear of tractor but with dual clutch there are the two sets of splines. Appreciate help from any of you 35 owners. Hi Ray.....I have never had any problems pulling them back togather...when you get close, use a pull handle and scoket to turn the engine as you pull it togather...if you still have trouble put the tranny in highest gear engage the pto and rock the rear wheels slightly it should go right in... make sure the splines on the shafts are clean and dry and lube very slightly....
hope this helps...if you have trouble post back...just take your time pulling it togather....

Big Dean Got me on right track. As usual he was 100% correct with his suggestions. Basically I put a long handled socket on bolt of crank shaft pulley and turned engine until each shaft one at a time engaged. Also, as he suggested kept the two housings together with allthread and nuts tighened with fingertips. All of you had the same suggestions and I sure appreciate your response and help. I engage the pto and turn the pto shaft with a pair of pliers, you can feel when the spline match up, so don't force anything, let it come togather easy or not at all. alvinnms
