My TEA 2085 has a bastardized carb on it and after several years of problems with it, I have decided I would like to get the original Zenith carb, if I can locate one. Has anyone used the rebuilt one found on this site? Does anyone know where to get a new one? Thanks for any info. Paul

Thanks guys: I think I,m going to go for the To-20,30 Marvel Schebler carburetor. They are well made cast iron carbs and the throttle shaft is on the same side. the center to center mounting holes are 2 1/8 on a TEA 85 MM carb, and 2 3/8 on these Marvels. I believe my tractor has already been altered to accept the 2 3/8 mount. I checked Farmer's Service and their "kit", which is very well thought out, is $395.00. I can get the Marvel for about $240.00. I would like to hear your thoughts on this and whether anyone else is using the Marvel-Schebler carburetor on their TEA. Should work, shouldn't it? Paul

Another possibility is the Holley 859-A. It was fitted to the TEA20s "later in production" according to the manual.
At engine number SC93795E, the Zenith 28G was introduced, so there is another possibility.
I don't know where you would find one of these but maybe it will widen your range of options. At least these models were selected specifically for the Standard engine. The "Marvel" was used on the Continental engines.
Jim
PS You may want to give The Carburetor Shop a call. Haven't dealt with them but looks interesting.

Do you know what the Holley 859A looks like? I have a NOS Holley 859 carburetor and have looked at the information available on line. All the online information details use on Ford COE trucks, has an accelerator pump, and name a diecast lower fuel bowl.

The one I have is all cast iron, lacks an accelerator pump and has a spring return choke plate. I suspect it was originally used on a tractor or other industrial engine. I was going to adapt it to use on a Frazer rototiller but have more treasure than time any more. A picture is available if you are interested.

Paul:

A company in Leetonia, Ohio called Farmers Service sells new Zenith Carbs. Cost about 365 dollars. They have a web site: farmerservice.com

Hello I have 4 N.O.S Zenith Crabs. The flange is the same bolt pattern as a model a ford. The carbs are fully adjustable as far as side draft, down draft, and up draft. Can any one tell me anything about these ??? Thanks

Paul, Your best bet would be to obtain a used carb from a breakers, then buy a reconditioning kit and do it up yourself. New carbs are very, very expensive.
