What port?

I see all the posts and think I have read them all, but I am still not sure what port to tie into on my 51 TO30 for hydralics. Can anyone explain this to me. I understand tieing down the three point. Just not sure where to tap into the in/out put for external hydralics on a loader.

There are at least two tapping-off points for external hydraulic power on your hydraulic system. If you look at the hydraulic pump underneath the centre axle housing, you will see at the left rear corner a plug screwed in horizontally and there is another on the front right corner, both of these will supply hydraulic power. On your tractor I would think there is also a hydraulic tapping on the front side right corner of the hydraulic lift cover just forward of the seat, you need a hexagon key to undo it.Make sure that you use an adaptor that is the correct thread especially in the hydraulic pump base because its is very soft metal and you can easily strip the threads if you are not careful. Always use an adaptor dont screw a hydraulic hose into the pump base, the adaptor prevents damage to the threads.

Some are standard BSP and some are Thread size in right hand port of lift cover changed from 3/8" x 18 NPTF to 1/2" BS depends on age of tractor...The ones in Pump base if remember right are quite fine thread. better take a plug out and get the thread matched I think to be safe.

John,
Just came in from looking at my tractor, are these plugs the allan bolt plugs on each side of the cover?
Does it matter which one is in and which one is out put?
