TE20 Transmission Failure

My TE20 has suddenly ceased to engage the wheels, no matter what gear it is in. The PTO and Hydraulics work fine.

Is there a shear pin that may have failed or another problem?

could your shifter just be out of the slots easy to check just take filler cap off of transmission and have a look also. My tea 20 had a broken fork in it and had only 3 and 4th gears.

your shear tub is more then likely busted. just did one for a friend in a to-20

I'm 100% certain but I think there is a shear tube in TE20 transmission. You can get a look at it by taking off side cover that has PTO lever on it. I've had a similar problem with a Ford digger that was because differential carrier bearings had disintegrated on one side letting crown wheel drop out of engagement with the pinion. A broken half shaft is also a possibility. I think I've also heard of crown wheel bolts shearing too. I think I'd check the clutch adjustment first as it could have enough grip to drive the pump and PTO (without a load on) but be slipping when asked to drive the wheels. IF PTO also stops with a load on it, that would suggest a clutch problem. If something had sheared you'd probably have heard it.

A broken axle will have the same results. I would take the trans. top off put it in gear, then bump the starter while watching, alvinnms or ASK Big Dean's Massey Ferguson web site g Dean.
