I recently Had a local tractor mechanic install a Steering Shaft on my TO30,stated it needed inter & outer bushings on Sector Arm Shafts (none available) Prior to reinstall it still had a steering drag. Put it on my bench and removed bottom housing plate. Inspection showed sloop in bushing area, but when put pulling pressure on both shafts drag seems to ease. My question is can I INSTALL SHIM WASHERS on SECTOR shafts W/O removing steering shaft? my I&T MANUAL NO HELP.Could use some advice I;m a novice on tractors

It may be possible, cant be 100% sure because the steering box on our UK TE tractors are slightly different to the TO series, but looking at the parts list it looks as though you may be able to do it. If you would like the pages from the parts list and the service manual so you can see whats involved, mail me at granada1 at hotmail dot com
