Sirs,

I have this Ferguson part and I am not sure just what it is. I was hoping that you, the experts could help me out and tell me what this is and what is was used on.

The unit is around 16 long and 10 wide.

More photos with the rest of the unit at: http://www.oak-hill.net/shawn/Ebay-Dec/ferguson.html

Thanks,
Shawn Andrews

Thanks Will,

This one sure was a surprise and it really has me hustling.

The neat aspect is that the Doctors say it is a boy this time so Im really getting into tractors and fire trucks and such.

I never could interest my girls in hunting, fishing or any other fun stuff like that. Maybe this way Ill have someone to play with in my second childhood;-)

Thanks again and my best to you and yours,
Shawn

Will,

You are 100% right. Now that I know what the item is I will determine if it has a value and if so I will list it on Ebay, hopefully at a time when it will bring the highest bid.

For myself this is not the preferred way to feed my family but a man has to do what he has to do to keep his wife and kids dressed and fed. (I have 2 girls 12 and 15. Surprise! New baby will be here at the end of Jan.)

For the Tractor Part it is better to be sold to someone who will take care of and use it rather than to continue to rust away or be hauled off to the dump.

For the new owner, what a deal on the real thing rather than whatever else could be found to do the job needed if something could replace this item.

For the forum members who reply with information and those who read the post. What a good opportunity to show and expand your knowledge.

Looks like one of those special circumstances in which, Everyone Wins.

I am very thankful to you and the other forum members for their discussions, advice, and even parts identification. I have learned a great deal here and I hope to continue to do so in the future. I really love researching this stuff and I have found YT to be at top-notch place to find valuable information.

Best Regards,
Shawn

Do know what it's for, but it's a speed reducer of somekind. By the way,you mean 10" x 16" , not 10' X 16' don't you?

Shawn - I believe Scott is right. It is a speed reduction unit for the Ferguson DE-O-20 (others probably) hay rake. A brochure I have says it is to be used if you need to rake in third gear (rough or hilly conditions) instead of fourth. It provides the necessary reel to ground speed relationship.

It could be speed up or reduction for a Ferguson pto 3 point hay rake but not sure.
