Ok, small update on the parts issue. we got the ring gear off.. had a number on it:
h8c300 w2

and we may have found one through pioneer.

That series of engines (the F400 blocks) can have a variety of flywheels/ringears on them depending on what they were used in (which was almost anything). Continental is now called WIS-CON I believe, you can find them on a websearch. If you have the flathead then it is likely either 124, 140, or 162 cubic inches depending on the cylinder bore (all the same engine otherwise). You probably knew all this already but just thought I'd mention it. What sort of shape is the engine in?
