TO-20 Rocker Pin Bushing - Stuck Tight

Now, I'm trying to put this replacement rocker on my TO-20, which requires removing the old bushing and rocker. It has been impossible. No amount of whacking of pins and bushings would get the old bushing out. Finally I cut off one arm of the old badly worn rocker and got clear access to the bushing which protruded from either side of the lug for it on top of the differential housing. Again, repeated whacking was useless. I tried to bung in the side of the bushing in the hope of opening a slight crack between it and the housing into which some rust penetrant could flow, and succeeded only in cracking off a bit of the end of the bushing.

I'm at my wit's end here. Has anybody got any good idea of how to get this thing out? My expected hour or so job has been holding me up for two weeks now.

Drill a small hole into the top of the differential housing that surrounds the pin. Squirt PB Blaster in it frequently for several days. Next, heat it with a MAPP gas torch for 2 minutes & bang on the pin with a 3lb hammer. I had to use 2 hands because the fender was in the way and it was difficult to hit it hard & head-on. If it doesn"t come out, let it cool. Spray more PB Blaster several times a day into the hole and around on the ends. Heat it up and beat it some more taking care to only hit the pin.

I thought I had it when the pin came out. But it didn"t drive out the sleeve the supports the rocker arm and covers the joint in the pin. That only stuck out 1". To get this out, use more PB Blaster, put a socket that is the same size as the sleeve on a 6" extension through the outer "ear" that the pin goes through, then beat the crap out of it! This way you can drive the sleeve out (and put it back in after you grease it). I used vice grips on the extension to keep it from falling off so I could use 2 hands on the hammer. If the fender was off, this wouldn"t be an issue because I could really hit it then.

Propane won"t work. Neither will WD-40 or liquid wrench.
