I recently purchased a Ferguson TO35 and found the Tractometer cable disconnected- probably for years. I can't figure out what or where it hooks to. Any help would be appreciated.

On the diesel MF35 the tractormeter cable goes to the front of the injection pump. There is a small gear box which has a threaded outlet to match the end of the cable or if were missing a round hole 1" diameter with a threaded hole on each side.
It is easy to test a tractormeter for basic function: just stick a cable end or small screwdriver into the back and spin it.

A third possible configuration is the 3 cyl Perkins diesel - the tach connects to the rear of the camshaft, near the top rear of the block on the starter side.

The cable is supposed to connect to a gearbox on the back of the generator, I had to disconnect mine when I converted to 12v.

Evan: Any idea on where to locate a replacement cable? Mine is broken internally, and I have no idea if my tractormeter even works. Mine is a TO-35, Z-134, with 12V Delco system.

Jim; What's the serial# of your TO35? According to my parts book, there are two different cable lengths used depending on the serial#.

Jim - I had a cable made a few months ago for my TO-35. United Speedometer, 2431 University Avenue, Riverside, CA 92507, 800-854-4798. Ask for Juan or Rick. The cable should be 34-21/32" in length.

If you can't find a "real" replacement cable. See if you can find a truck (as in big semi's) parts store near you. Here in Utah, Six States Distribution is the best).

They should be able to make up just about any cable you want. I had Six States make up a cable for my speedo and my tach for my '62 Peterbilt.
