The hydraulics on my '57 TO35 seem to be maladjusted. response to changes in the position "hydralever" is extremely fast. If I'm not careful, implements alternately slam into the ground or leap into the air. I assume that this is not normal, and i have the I&T manual which describes the adjustment, but I was hoping for advice before I dive in.

Thanks!

Sounds odd for it to do that. Before you do anything check that the sensing rocker where the top link fastens to on the tractor is free and not siezed up. Also check that there is NO end float in this rocker, you should not be able to get any in/out movement, if you are getting this you need to adjust the large nut under the rubber boot to just take the play out, no more, do not tighten it.If its not siezed up are you operating the levers correctly, do you have them in the correct position. If you have any doubts about this if you let me have an email address I will send you a sheet with the correct operating instructions for this Hydraulic system. If it wont control smoothly with the "position" control lever then it may need adjustment to the linkage inside.

i appreciate the help. My father owns a "modern" tractor, and he was commented on the response. I exaggerated a little, of course, but it does seem dramatic if I fail to move the lever gently. Please send me the pages at 4kingstons at citynet dot net.

Thanks,

Mike.
