What size front tires did the factory put on a TE20? Mine is a 20-85 if that makes a difference. Presently has 15 inch rims with used car tires, my Massey dealer says originally was 16 inch. What say you?

Morning Glen, If your the same Glen from Ontario. There is a Massey Dealer near me that can get original equipment such as tires, I replaced my 2 front tires last year for $100 a side. Looks better than ever now

Lambert's at Beaverton is the last 'old time' Massey dealer around here.

Glen---- Not so, McKewon Motors in SpringBrook can get all the parts you need. I use them quite often. They have been a Massey dealer for 80 years Were pretty close, Im just off Highway # 7 South of Marmora

My '47 TE20 had 400-19 as the original equiptment. I think most of them did. I just put new tires on mine last year, and my local tire dealer had the 400-19 tires in stock. They are Titan brand and are 3-rib. I think this is the only size that looks correct. I would use them if I were restoring an old tractor.

mine are 16in. i don,t have the correct tires on because i have a loader and have heavier tires but the rims are original at least i think they are and they,re 16,s

TE20 in UK always had 400 x 19 tyres as standard. TEA20 which was TE20/85 or TE30 depending on the area it was in, was always shown as having 600 x 16 on the sales literature, 400 x 19 were basically for rowcrop work anyway.

Hi I have 6x16, rims on at the moment, with some bald truck tires on, its a pain to drive, but i cant afford 3 rib just now, and i have the 4x19 rims too, without tires, but if you use 4x19 it will sink more easily down in the dirt, thats why i use the 6x16 setup...

Good to all.

I have a 55 TEA 20-85 and it came with 6x16 and looks right for the times. These tyres are three rib.

My 2 bits worth.

Front tires on to-20.Is this the same as Te-20
Orginal pnumatic tires on drop center rims was
4.00-19. optional tire size was 6.00-16.

I have 600-16's from a Dexta on mine.They fit OK, but fergy's really need 400 19's to look right.

The two sizes I quoted came from the 1949 TO-20 operation manual. So next question? Can I still purchase 4.00-19 in U.S. ? I haven't looked around yet.
