TE-20 overfill for oil pressure

I have a TE20 with a Z120 Engine. 0 is ground down with a 9 stamped in it.
Oil level has to be about 1 qt. over full to get any oil pressure. I am thinking something is loose or broken on the oil pump sump.
Any idea?

Could be a cracked pick up tube. Pull the pan off and take a look.

Have you ever changed the oil filter? It is in the oil pan. If you don't get the spring in the correct possition this can some times effect the pressure. Do you have pressure when you first start the engine? Have you checked the pressure guage? These are all possibilities, check back with answers.

Sounds like bottom of oil pick up pipe may be missing or have dropped off! BUT, I don't know the innards of this engine so someone else may give a much better response. I offer that as one possibilty only.
