I got 1 flat head screw out, and broke my impact tool on the other. I hav been dowsing with liquid wrench, and trying to move the sucker.
Anyone have any methods to removing the other big flat head screw?

Finally got the bugger out.
I kept tapping on it with a hammer, Try to turn it with a screw driver, and walk away. Over the course of a few days doing this, I then took a flat head and a hammer, and tried to turn it by chisel method. Sunday morning, in my PJs it turned. After breakfast, I replace the bearing seal with a sure seal. Success!

IF YOU DO HAVE TO RESORT TO DRILLING DONT DESPAIR. START WITH A GOOD CENTER PUNCH, MOVE TO A 3/16 BIT, THEN TO THE SIZE OF THE BOLT. USE A FAIRLY SLOW SPEED DRILL AND A GOOD LUBRICANT. JUST MAKE SURE THE CENTER PUNCH IS CENTERD AND THE DRILL IS STRAIGHT. EASY JOB, JUST TAKES PATIENCE. GOOD LUCK!

The slots on mine were too boogered up to use a screwdriver . I wound up welding a 1/2" bolt to each of them and using a wrench on the bolt head to unscrew them whil they were still hot .

Worked like a charm .

Good Luck !
