I have a 1951 Tea 20 with a Standard engine. It leaks oil from the head to block joint on the left rear side of the engine. Would a new head gasket seal this? If so where could I purchase one. I live in Souther Ontario Canada. Thanks for any help.

Yes it sounds as though its leaking from the point at which the rockershaft is supplied with oil and in that case it would cure it. I would suggest that if possible you get a complete head gasket set for it because you will need more than the head gasket. Sparex part number is S42085 for gasket set and S42253 for head gasket only, I am assuming that your engine is 85mm bore and NOT 80mm, if it is 80mm the part numbers will be wrong. Try both these sites or maybe you know a Sparex dealer near to you.

Check that the head is flat and not warped or it may occur again, no gasket cement is necessary or desirable on the gasket, just use a film of grease.
